One of the most celebrated festival all over India, Holi, is here. Approximately around 5 gallons of water are wasted every year by each person playing Holi during this festival. Imagine the wastage, especially when we have a population of over 1.37 billion. Today, at Penguin Tank, a plastic water storage tank supplier has taken the initiative to encourage people and give them solutions on how to play Holi without wasting much water.

Count The Use Of Water

We are not asking you to stop using water altogether while playing Holi. Although that would be ideal, we don’t want to spoil your fun. Only take care that you don’t waste water unnecessarily. The best way to do that is to measure the quantity of water that you think is reasonable to use. You can store it in a tub or a plastic water storage tank depending on its capacity and how many members of your family are going to use it. Make sure you stick to this limited water.

Play Outside Your Home

Whether you live in an apartment or a house, play outside. It can be an empty street, a separate area or a garden. Even if you are going to play with dry colours, don’t use it inside your home. It will double the hard work and the amount of water to take out stains. After the celebration is complete use a bucket with soapy water and a sponge or rag to clean any area you want to. Do not use a pipe, as you won’t be able to keep a measure on the water used.

Go Organic

As much as you need to be conscious of water wastage, you also need to be conscious of your skin. So, use herbal colours. These colours can wash out very easily, and it will also take care of your skin. If you are playing with water, mix only herbal colours. Try to avoid other types of colours which mostly tend to have a lot of chemicals. Not only they are harmful to your skin, but it also takes a lot of water to wash it out. Make sure you apply oil on your hair and lotion on your body before stepping out of the house. This will also help you to wash easily without using much water.

In the end, it’s you who needs to be conscious of water wastage because if you do so, your kids will learn the same thing too. After all, it’s their future you need to think about. So, if you instil in them how wastage of water should not be done during Holi, they will stop using water balloons and water guns. After it’s over, make sure you wash off the colour outside or in the garden with only a bucket of water. Once you have washed primarily, then enter the house. This will prevent more staining in the house. Depending on the size of your plastic storage water tank spend your water carefully. This way, all of us can stop the water wastage at Holi.

Happy Holi to you all!!
